Condolences & Tributes

We encourage you to share any memorable photos or stories about Lois. All tributes placed on and purchased through this memorial website will remain on in perpetuity for future generations.

Our heartfelt Condolences to the Baker Family. We go back many years. My mother Dolores Maternick and Lois were best friends. I became best friends with Lois and Loren's son Bill, who passed from this life way too soon due to cancer. I fondly remember going to their home to spend weekends when I was a young boy and teenager. I remember spending time with Bill at his grandparents’ house off Belair Road and their place at the Eastern Shore where I would marvel at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge as we went out fishing into the Bay. I remember Lois as being kind and thoughtful. She cared for others above herself. I remember when my father passed in Apr 2017, I stopped by her house to let her know. She invited me into her home on Penn Avenue. The memories of time spent there with Bill and his brother John came flooding back. We chatted about old times past for quite a while. I promised her I would keep in touch and with a hug bid her goodbye. Lois gave unselfishly of herself right up to the end. She never quit…..she never stopped thinking about others. Lois is an inspiration to all. John…..our family wishes you and your family peace. Sincerely, Ray and Connie Maternick
