Bernadette Spinoso (Lidard)
On July 1, 2018 Bernadette Regina (nee Lidard) Spinoso, beloved wife of 55 years to the late Vincent Michael Spinoso; devoted mother of Stephen Spinoso and his wife Mary Ann, her daughter, Susan Lafon and her husband Lee, her daughter, Pamela Francik and her husband William, her son, David Spinoso and his wife Deborah, her daughter, Leigh Ann Carter and her husband Larry and her daughter, Mary Spinoso; loving grandmother of Betsy, Jackie, Stephen Jr., Lisa, Tracey, Raymond Jr., Rachel, Joseph, Tricia, Page, Luca, Andrew, Katie, Lauren, Bernie, Anna, Betsy, Billy and the late Nicholas and Danica; cherished great grandmother of Mason, Damien, Brayden, Giulianna, Reagan, Ella, Griffin, Garrett, Isabella, Vincent, Zachary, Jordan, Bryce, Christian, Erin, Marianna, Cody, Wes, Brody, Livianna, Nicky and Adam; dear sister of the late Edgar Lidard, Kenneth Lidard, Mary Bramble and Margaret Lidard; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her constant companions Buddy, Rocky and the late Sophie and Sally.
Bernadette’s family is celebrating her long, fulfilling life of 85 years. As the matriarch of the family, Bernadette possessed an unrelenting and boundless love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and cooking, especially Italian pasta dishes. As an animal lover at heart, Bernadette also mothered and her cared her many endearing pets, both cats and dogs.
Bernadette’s home was the main hub of family holiday gatherings and celebrations. She and her late husband Vincent named their country home Brigadoon after a play that they performed in together at St. Matthew’s Dramatic Society. True to the story of Brigadoon, Bernadette and Vincent made an unprecedented move to the country in Hydes MD, where they built their house into the magical home it now is today. Bernadette was also very proud of her role as Liat in South Pacific.
Bernadette's love for gardening and nature can be seen in the colorful flowers, majestic trees, and Angel and Mother Mary garden statues that adorn her peaceful home in the countryside. Her faith in God was her refuge and her strength. Bernadette will be dearly and forever missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the E. F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A. 11750 Belair Road in Kingsville on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
