Condolence From: Wendy Brown
Condolence: One of my first memories of Eddie was in the garden. He helped me weed and we spoke about spirituality...not so much the spirituality that is tied to a god figure. We spoke of the spirituality that dwells within us, the one that sees all living creatures as sacred. We were both on a journey. We were both seekers. And I believe during that conversation, we discovered a common ground that was without judgement. From that moment we had a connection. I recall when he joined Will and I for a Super Bowl event and how he fit in so well with everyone. He was able to connect with the eclectic crowd, and had something to offer to each and every conversation. I marveled at how such a young man could know so much and I was happy for him. I always loved Eddie. I always will. I always saw the light in him, and although I know we never die, I will miss the physical body which was the vessel of his beautiful soul. I have cried much in the past few days over this loss. It tugs so much at my heart. I know he feels it. I know he is aware of all that is transpiring--all of this out-pouring of love; and I know that he and I will be reunited (perhaps on the other side, perhaps in another physical life.) Eddie, I promise that your son will know of your light. He will know of your sense of humor, and your love of adventure. It pains me greatly that you will not be a physical presence for him. The spirit is mighty...and I am certain you will be near Riley whenever it is needed. As for me, I will carry you with me forever in my heart. I am going to plant a tree in your honor...a maple...one that will grow tall and strong...and one that will be a reminder of you. Many condolences to your family and all who loved you. With all my love, Momma Brown

Condolence From: Lisa Peddicord, Principal's Secretary Burleigh Manor M.S.
Condolence: My thoughts and prayers are with all that are close to Eddie. Being the Principal's Secretary at the middle school Eddie attended, I had many opportunities to chat with Eddie. He was brilliant and had a ton of talent and I always enjoyed chatting with him. I am so sad for this poor child that just could not fight off his demons and for his family that stood by him for years supporting him. May he rest in peace and may he be able to live life in heaven as he chooses to without anyone trying to control his spirited personality.

Condolence: My sister, Nancy, and I, as well as our families, are so sorry for your loss! Though we never met little Eddie, we knew and loved his Dad and Hawkins Grandparents as part of our extended family growing up. We want you to know that we care and are SO sorry and we will be praying for you all in the days and months ahead. God Bless You All! 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

Condolence: Our family is heartbroken to hear of Eddie's passing. I am so inspired by Eddie's sobriety, maturity and friendship. He is such a hard worker! When we see Eddie he always has stories about family, friends (old and new because he always seems to making new ones!) and work/school. I have been so impressed by the changes he has made in his life and he really had it together! We send our deepest sympathy to the Hawkin's family, and hope you find peace in knowing how much Eddie means to many people. He will be missed so very much.

Condolence: Eddie is a very memorable figure from my High School years. While I didn't have many opportunities to speak with him, he's always struck me as very upbeat, and a good guy to be around. I hope he rests well.

Condolence: I knew Eddie since Elementary School. He always found a way to make me laugh when I was upset and it usually ended with both of us sitting on separate sides of the classroom. We were the Red Rover champions together and we were very good friends. I have many pictures if anyone would like a copy of them, I’d be happy to send them. Eddie would stand up for me and always make bullies leave me alone. I will forever be grateful for his friendship and I will never forget his kindness and humor. Rest In Peace Eddie.

Condolence: I knew Eddi throughout school and as a coworker. I’ve seen him through good times, and through bad. He was definitely a strong intelligent person. And he has influenced me both positively... and negatively (but with good spirit)

Condolence: Eddie was a special guy. I met him several times throughout my life (at girl scout day camp as kids, my senior year of Centennial HS, and then this last year). His turnaround is the most inspiring story I have to tell people. I admire him hugely and I am so sad he is gone. Please accept my condolences in this hard time and know that Eddie was loved by many.
