Shirley Marie (Baer) Casey, 82, died peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Care Center in Oak Crest Retirement Community. She was born February 19, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Eva and John Baer. Shirley attended Patterson High School serving as the secretary of the Class of 1953 since high school. In 1956 she married the love of her life, Thomas J. Casey who survives her. She loved to travel and see the country and the world. She was a lifelong member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Baltimore. Her family and neighborhood friends were the center of her life. Shirley is survived by her sister/best friend and her husband, Dorothy and George Martel, her loving children and their spouses, Karen and Paul Winicki of Baltimore, MD., Colleen and Steve Filliaux of Rising Sun, MD., Kevin and Teresa Casey of Bel Air, MD., John Casey and Marie Yeh of Towson, MD., and her adoring grandchildren Jessica, Noelle, Matthew, Marshall, Nicholas, Nathan, Sarah, Silas, Leah, Lydia, Alanna, Jillian, Shanna, Madi and Sean and 2 great grandchildren, Connor and Owen.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during these last years in her life.
The family will receive friends at the Oak Crest Chapel on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 10am until 11am at which time funeral services will begin. Interment private.
