Obituary for Gerald G. "Scotty" Scott

On April 22, 2017 Gerald G. “Scotty” Scott beloved husband of 53 years of the late Doris (nee Clark) Scott and beloved husband of 7 years of Helen Maskell Scott; devoted father of Clark Scott and his wife Charlotte of Kingsvile, Dan Scott and his wife Beth of Jarrettsville, Brian Scott and his wife Kelly of Bel Air; loving grandfather of Bill, Alex, Michael, Kimberly, Chris and Bailie; cherished great grandfather of 10 great grandchildren; step father of Dan Maskell, Nona Biser and Patricia Storke and the late Mary Carol and Donna Marie; dear brother of Leonard Scott and his wife Eleanor and the late Bessie, Thomas, John and Helen; also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. Scotty was the son of the late Leonard and Mae (nee Mullaney) Scott of Jessup, PA. Scotty built his first house in Kingsville in 1948 and he was very active in the community. He was a key player in starting Little League in Kingsville and coached the first Little League baseball team. He was a Cub Scout Pack Master, Charter Member of the Kingsville Perry Hall Lions Club, and was the last living charter member of the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company. He served our country during WWII in the US Coast Guard. He ran his own construction business for many years. Scotty was well known in the community and throughout. If you were in line with him or sat with him and didn’t know him, he would have you in a conversation and you will have known him before you parted. He left an impression on everyone he met and knew.
The family will receive friends at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A. 11750 Belair Road in Kingsville on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Further visiting will be held at Oak Crest Chapel on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 10:30am until 11am, at which a Mass of Christian burial will begin. Interment Parkwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Oak Crest Village Benevolent Care Fund.
