Condolence: 1Corinthians 15:55-57 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I remember Doreen from high school. I too am battling Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, a distant recurrence to the spine and liver, less than three years after my first occurrence. I honestly believe that it is harder on my husband and children than it is for me. Cry and mourn but do not let anger over-take your life. I used to often be a camp counselor for our church and one year the theme was "Why me? Why not me?" That has really helped me. Should this happen to my daughter? My sister? My friend? We don't understand the why. We can only pray that for some reason this has befallen us. I sometimes wonder if my illness over the past three years will inspire my 6 year old grand-daughter to go into medicine or medical research. I do pray that at the time of our passing we have made our peace with our loved ones and our Lord. I pray that our Heavenly Father will hold you in his mighty hands to bring you comfort and I understanding during this sad time. I am only an email and phone call away if you need to talk to someone who is experiencing the same path as Doreen. We became sisters in a club neither one of wanted to join.
May Doreen's memory be ever eternal to our Lord. As he promised, His kingdom has many rooms and He has prepared a place for all of us in His heavenly Kingdom for all who believe in Him.
